Josefin Silén is one of the brightest shining, young leading ladies in the Finnish musical theatre industry. Graduating as late as 2019 she has already played two leads as Esmeralda in the Hunchback of Notre Dame and as the title role in Mary Poppins. In the fall of 2021 she played Meg Giry in the concert version of Love Never Dies at the Finnish National Opera and Ballet. She’ll be playing Rizzo and cover Sandy in Grease the musical in the spring of 2023 in Helsinki.

Josefin studied at Balettakademien in Gothenburg 2014-2016 before starting her BA (Hons) studies at the Academy of Music and Drama – considered one of the best musical theatre educations in the Nordic countries.

In addition Josefin has also participated in a number of courses in London such as Acting in Musical Theatre at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Fitzmaurice Voicework at Rose Bruford College and Somatic Voicework at Baldwin Wallace University in Ohio (Online). In the summer of 2022 she was accepted to the Professional Acting Programme at the Barrow Group in New York.
Josefin is also a much appreciated coach in musical theatre, focusing especially on singing interpretation and acting through song. Teaching several workshops for teenagers and adults Josefin has the experience to help each individual find their own authentic voice as well as connect to the text and character.
